美國汽車雜誌 Car and Driver 報導，BMW 正開發三款新車。
分別是 BMW Megacity concept 量產版、改為前驅的 1er、全新 2er。
換句話說，2er 將取代 1er 成為 BMW 入門後驅車款。
BMW 與 PSA 集團合作開發的前驅混合動力系統也將搭載於 1er 車上～
BMW 也已在美國申請 228、230、235 等專利商標，似乎意味著 2er 將搭載六缸引擎。
