Q&A with Ferrari’s Kimi Raikkonen

Q: Kimi, after the winter tests and two practice session does the F60
compliment your driving style more than last year’s car?
Q: Kimi,冬季測試和兩段練習賽後,F60有比去年的車合你的駕駛風格嗎?

KR: I don’t know if this year’s car suits my style more than the
F2008, but I am probably happier about the direction we are going in than
last year, and under those circumstances I am happy to start the season.
Hopefully we will see that in qualifying and on Sunday in the race.
我不知道這台車是不是比F2008合我駕駛風格,但我可能對我們現在走的方向來的比去年那
些情勢之下開心,很開心可以開始這一季.

Q: It seems to be particularly hard to judge Friday’s practice session. How
was it from your point of view?
Q: 看來很難判定禮拜五的練習賽.你的觀點呢?

KR: It was okay in the morning, but in the afternoon it was a bit tricky. We
still need to look for better set-ups and stuff like that. We have already
tried some things but that was not ideal. But for the first time that we
are preparing for a race, it was okay.

早上看起來還ok,但到了下午就有點艱難了.我們仍然須要再找更好的設定之類的. 我們已
經有試一些東西了, 但還是不理想,但是對第一次準備比賽來說,還ok..

Q: On what part of the track do you use the KERS system?

KR: Wherever I want.

Q: But can you use it for a longer time, not with full power, or do you just
use it for overtaking?
Q:但是你可以不用全速的使用它,可以久一點時間,或者你要用它來超車?

KR: It depends - every lap can be different.

Q: Do you expect any surprises for qualifying?
Q:你期待排位賽會有什麼驚喜嗎?

KR: Well, I don’t know. It is still very confusing to say who is where.
Qualifying will show us the reality of who is quick and who is not.
我不知道.還很難去說誰會在哪裡..排位賽會靠訴我們誰比較快而誰不是..

Q: What did last season teach you?
Q:上一季教了你些什麼?

KR: It didn’t teach me anything. I didn’t have such a good season, but that
is part of racing and you always try to learn from mistakes. Last season
is in the past and I am looking forward to seeing what we can do this
season.

什麼也沒教..我沒有好的一季.但這是比賽的一部份.總是試著在錯誤中學習.上一季已經是
過去了..我現在只看這一季我們能做什麼.

Q: The slick tyres have generally more grip at the front. Do you think that
will stop you from having the same qualifying problems that you were facing
last year?
Q:光頭胎在前方比較有抓地力,從去年排位賽的問題,你認為它會有影響嗎?

KR: To be honest I don’t know. We have not done any qualifying yet, so it is
impossible to say anything but I am sure I can answer that question after
the first two races.

Q: How much importance would you give to last season in terms of your career?

KR: I have a contract for this year and for 2010 so it will not change
anything. After that I have the option to choose what I want to do. But for
sure I hope to do well this season because that is what I am here for -
to race - and to produce good results.

Q: Do you think you are hungrier for a title this season than you were last
year?

KR: There is no change from last year to this year.

Q: Are these cars more fun to drive than last year’s?
Q:這些車是不是比去年駕駛起來更有趣呢?

KR: It is always fun to drive. Sometimes it can be a little bit more when you
can play around a little bit more. But I wouldn’t be here if the fun in
racing had disappeared. And now it is time to see how it goes in racing.
In testing I had a pretty good feeling.
駕駛一直都很有趣,有時候當你能隨心所欲時會更有趣..但如果比賽的樂趣消失了,我就不
會在這裡了, 現在是時候看比賽怎樣了..在測試時..我覺得挺好的.
