Uber自駕車撞死人事件的後續效應，
根據外電消息，
原本亞利桑納一直都是對自駕車測試最友善的州之一，
但現在州長Doug Ducey宣佈無限期暫停Uber在亞利桑那州進行自駕車測試。
州長說，如果對民眾安全性的承諾還不夠明確、會讓人有所疑慮的話，
這是亞利桑那州無法忍受的事。
Nvidia 也宣佈暫停在全球的自駕車測試活動

Arizona ordered Uber Technologies Inc. to stop operating autonomous cars
on the state’s roads indefinitely after the death of a pedestrian there
a week ago.

Ducey wrote in the letter. “Arizona will not tolerate any less than an
unequivocal commitment to public safety.”
◇業界人士認為死亡車禍是可以避免的
針對這場死亡車禍， Google Waymo和Intel的Mobileye都說，
如果是他們家的自駕車軟體，車子就能偵測到那位婦人，並做出因應。
在分析完車禍影片之後，自駕車軟體科技公司Cortica也說，
如果是他們的系統，就能提前0.9秒偵測到婦人，自駕車會提早在15公尺前面做出反應
，拯救婦人一命。

Mobileye said their driverless-car software would have detected and responded
to Elaine Herzberg, the woman struck while walking her bicycle across the road

Cortica, a technology company that develops autonomous artificial
intelligence, analyzed the video and provided its evaluation exclusively
to CNET. Its system detected Herzberg at 0.9 second before impact
when the car was about 50 feet away. Cortica's CEO, Igal Raichelgauz,
said that would have been enough time for an autonomous vehicle to react
and save Herzberg's life.
