The upcoming Porsche 918 Spyder has been taken out for a test drive at the Nü
rburgring by ex-rally driver Walter Rohrl who explains in this video why the
track is so important to carmakers from all over the world when developing a
new model. Rohrl says that the 918 Spyder is easier to take to the limit in
comparison to the gorgeous Carrera GT.

Speaking of the Nurburgring (Nordschleife), Porsche has released earlier
this week video footage of the 918 Spyder's 7 minutes and 14 seconds lap
time.

The production version of the Porsche 918 Spyder will go into production in
September 2013 and it will probably get a V8 4.6-liter engine coupled to two
electric motors generating a combined output of 759 hp (566 kW). The upcoming
flagship model will do the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) sprint in less than 3
seconds and hit a top speed of 202 mph (325 km/h).
