(一) Excitement about Grand Prix of America, set to take place in New Jersey in
2013 along the Hudson river with the Manhattan skyline in the background, is
already building, with one fan using track designer Hermann Tilke's blueprints
to mock up a computerised version of what an onboard lap could look like.

(二) On the evidence of Friday, McLaren does not appear to be in a position to
repeat its recent threat to Red Bull in qualifying but careful analysis of
practice suggests that in race trim it should be right there.

(三) Experienced engineer Jacky Eeckelaert is to head up the design project of
next year's HRT.

(四) Formula 1 is unlikely to be troubled by those who question the morality of
holding a grand prix in Uttar Pradesh, one of the poorest regions in this
heart-achingly poor land. Is it viable, though? Can interest in this event be
sustained during the five years of its contract? Ask those questions and the F1
deal-makers will prick up their ears. For when this noisy circus has travelled
east, to South Korea and China for example, it has not been an overwhelming
success.

(五) Four people, including a top official of the company organising the
Metallica concert, were arrested early Saturday on charges of cheating and
breach of trust, as the event was postponed at the last moment, police said.
